About Mulligans on the Blue in Wailea, Maui, HI
Mulligans is Maui’s only Irish-owned and run restaurant and bar. Michael O’Dwyer hails from Clonmel in County Tipperary and emigrated to the U.S. in 1993 to work in food & beverage management at the Four Seasons in Dallas, later transferring to the Wailea Four Season in 1996.
On May 1st, 2001, he realized his dream and opened Mulligans on the Blue. While operated independently of the Wailea Old Blue Course, Mulligans provides excellent food, beverages, and service to the Wailea Blue Course’s patrons.
Their menu consists of traditional Irish pub fares such as Harp Battered Fish and Chips, Corned Beef and Cabbage, Mulligans Shepherd’s Pie, Bangers & Mash, and more. Mulligans also offers traditional American favorites such as burgers, sandwiches, and wings, as well as vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.
Mulligans on the Blue has 10 beers on tap, both local and Irish beers, and 14 HD flatscreens for catching up on your choice of sporting events including NFL football. Make Mulligans on the Blue your 19th hole and enjoy your favorite meal or libation in a comfortable, relaxed Maui bar setting after your game.

“If you are looking for a real Irish experience, this is the place to be. The food was outstanding. The view of the Pacific Ocean with the sun setting was beautiful from our vantage point. The live music was just the right volume for conversation. It is a place for people who are more seasoned, which I liked. This establishment closed at 9pm and the band played approximately 2.5 hours. I would have liked it to stay open a bit longer. We went on a Saturday night.”

“The entrance is a little hard to find – it’s on the south side, up the green stairway. The live music is family friendly and enjoyable. We made a reservation through OpenTable – and I’m glad we did. Shepherds pie is delish and a great portion. The apple pie is big enough to share. We watched the sunset over the sea.”

“If you want a sports bar to watch NFL Sunday football this is the place. They have multiple big-screen TVs and had three separate football games on, so whatever team you like chances are they’ll be on one of the TVs. Oh, and as an added bonus, this most definitely is a local’s hangout which added to the great atmosphere. We sat at the bar to watch the games and the lone bartender was severely over worked. This dude was literally sweating trying to keep up with the patrons’ demand for drinks and eats and he did a great job, that’s why I rate the service as a five. Okay, on to the food. I had a pot pie that was served piping hot and chock full of tender chunks of beef. The crust was crisp and flaky too. The only critique is that there were very few veggies, it was pretty dried out and too salty. But hey it had a ton of meat folks so I can’t really complain. My wife had the fish and chips. The fish and fries were both hot and crunchy so no problem there, although we’ve had better tasting fish. In the end, we probably would not go back here to eat, BUT as a sports bar is not all about the food and since we only tried two of the items on the menu, that’s why I give the food a four star rating.”

“Visited Mulligans today with a 630 pm res. Really can’t figure the negative reviews on this site. Million dollar view. Great food. Live music. Big screens for footballl, indoor and outdoor seating. Clean with a great comfortable vibe with staff obviously busy and hustling still having time to have a quick personal chat. Or in the case of our waiter, Richard, a song with the band while he took a break hustling tables.
Reasonable prices considering your on Maui and very generous portions. Try the lava cake for desert. Seriously make a reservation, sit outside after sunset and enjoy. And to those that complain about this place, go to the mall, pay double for less, and say you went to ‘the big name’ place. Stay away from here. You won’t be missed.”

I heard that Mulligans on the Blue has recently closed permanently, is this true? That would be some sad news. It was always on my list of places to eat at whenever I golfed the Wailea golf courses.
Tom they are definitely not closed! Have live music every weekend. They are open Friday-Sunday except for this weekend they are closed on Friday for a special private event. We love Mulligans! It’s a great spot. Stop by there next time you are on Maui and mahalo for using Maui Happy Hours.
