“I had heard many positive things with Merrimans but foolishly last year I cancelled the reservation when it was cloudy. This year it was a “must” and it happened to be a perfect sky. The perfect sky doesn’t make this restaurant though, it certainly can add to it, but Merriman’s speaks for itself with servers such as Gary who was amazing. From first bite to last bite Merriman’s was amazing. When it comes to “Mama’s vs Merriman’s”, people on reviews can be over the top cheering for their favorite. We did enjoy Merriman’s more than Mama’s but Mama’s is incredible as well. What stood out for Merriman’s was the amazing view, top notch service, cocktails and wine suggestions which were perfect and the relaxed atmosphere which is intoxicating. The food was excellent and I’d be hard pressed to ever eat a better offering than the seared ahi which was on special. We will be back.”

“I had heard good things about this place but it’s one of those experiences where the reviews can’t prepare you for how awesome it is. First of all the location is STUNNING. And if you have to wait for your table you get to walk around on the beautiful property looking at the beautiful ocean and they text you when your table is ready. The service was impeccable and BEYOND. The food was out of this world – best meal I ate on Maui. Plus they are very eco-conscious and source as much locally as they can, and you can taste the difference! A couple of suggestions: more NA drink options. They had like 3 mocktails on the menu but I don’t like mocktails, I would rather have NA beer or wine or even a fancy sparkling water. Also the parking situation is valet-only. We didn’t realize that and parked ourselves and walked up, and then had to surrender our car key to the valet which was kind of weird. Then after dinner our car was like 20 feet away but we had to wait for a valet to go get it, and I’m like, why? Not a dealbreaker in any way, just helpful to be aware of! Will 100% go back next time we visit Maui!”

“Merriman’s came recommended from a friend of a friend – and did not disappoint! The atmosphere was perfect with ocean views and whale watching from the patio. We had dinner at the bar and watched the sunset. The food was spectacular, and the staff all very friendly and professional. Light live ambient music as well to add to the vibe. We would definitely go back!”

“First time dining here as a customer since maybe 2015? I tend to eat here more often as a wedding vendor photographing events. Honestly though whether as a guest or vendor this place always turns out phenomenal food. If your main concern is quality, fresh and thoughtful food then Merriman’s is your answer. They’re great with celiac or allergies and the servers are all top notch.”

Aloha, this is an employee of Merriman’s Kapalua. We do not offer happy hour at our Maui location. We open at 4pm. We do offer a point menu and cocktails on our deck for regular pricing.

No. They now have a prix fixe menu and those people have the tables outside on patio. They offer happy hour at the bar only 4 to 5pm.
Heading to Maui in October after 3 COVID years, and was really hoping to take in Sunset and happy hour at the Kapalua location. Tell me it isn’t so. Is there no longer happy hour out on the patio?
