Cool Cat Café has officially reopened in South Maui, bringing its iconic retro diner vibe and award-winning menu to its new location at Kukui Mall in Kihei. Previously a landmark in Lahaina’s Wharf Cinema Center for over 20 years, the café made the move after the devastating wildfires in August 2023. Despite the challenges, Cool Cat Café continues to uphold its reputation as a beloved gathering spot for locals and visitors alike.
The new location is already bustling with energy. Guests rave about the welcoming atmosphere, lively crowds, and the nostalgic touches that Cool Cat Café is known for. Though much of their signature 1950s memorabilia was lost, owner Sean Corpuel and his team are actively rebuilding, hoping to bring back the charm that made Cool Cat Café so special in Lahaina.
Corpuel has shared that the relocation was not an easy decision, but the outpouring of support from the Maui community solidified their resolve. Longtime patrons from Lahaina continue to make the drive to Kihei, while new visitors are discovering what makes Cool Cat Café an island favorite.
Cool Cat Café’s menu remains a testament to its commitment to quality and freshness. From their hand-pattied burgers to house-made sauces, every dish is crafted with care. Popular menu items include the slow-cooked baby back ribs slathered in a family BBQ recipe, hand-spun milkshakes, and fresh fish sourced from local fishermen. “If you come and eat at the Cool Cat Cafe, come hungry! My wife and I shared a combo plate, steak and chicken, and had food left over. The chicken was melt in your mouth tender. The flat iron steak was pretty tender and that is one of the tougher steak cuts. When we come back to Maui, this will definitely be on our must eat list!”

This place was such a pleasant surprise for us while in Keihi! We had visited two other places before settling for Cool Cat and were glad we settled!! The BEST service, such great server(s) with delicious recommendations. We ended up going back the next night too, we loved it so much. Try the sweet potato fries and any of the burgers! We had four of them over the two visits and loved them. My daughter loved the Rockin’ Robin sandwich as well. Can’t go wrong here!”

“This is a frequent hangout for me. I go solo or enjoy it with friends. My gands down favorite it the Bleu Suede burger. I order it wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun. The bar is a convenient spot as we get faster service. The bartenders are most attentive and the armosphere is vibrant. Last night they featured a lovely singer who played outdoors. Their selection of sumptous burgers and mouth watering sundaes are to rave for. Best burgers this side of Maui.”

“We were there for happy hour and had the sliders, Mai Tais, the burger of the month which was called Merry Cheese I believe, chicken strips, and grilled cheese sandwich.
The service was good and the atmosphere was nice. The food was good and happy hour definitely helps. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for their burger fix.”

“Visited tonight and had a great experience. Arrived around 545pm which was perfect because we were able to get happy hour drinks and food in before the 6pm deadline. The music said it would start at 730 but the guy was set up and jamming by 630 with great island music.
Alanna was our server and she was excellent. We got the 2 for $10 sliders, twice, so 4 sliders total which allowed us to try one of each. All were excellent. Would also recommend the “frings” half fries half onion rings, but I will say if you need to pick the onion rings were spectacular. Drinks were spot on as well! Check it out if you’re in Maui looking for a $50 dinner with drinks!”
