Lineage comes from a place in the past – a place where everyone gathered around and shared together the food that was laid out in front of them – food that is from the heart and filled with memories. Dishes will pay homage to those who inspire us.
Lineage is thrilled to introduce Chef MiJin Kang Toride! Chef MiJin grew up immersed in the flavors of her grandmother’s cooking, enjoying the blend of tastes that is characteristic of her newly created dishes focusing on Korean and Chinese-inspired cuisine. Meshing flavors from different cultures and regions is one of her passions.
Over the years, her career took her to Terra in St. Helena (where she was mentored by Chef Hiro Sone), Morimoto in Napa, Ame at the San Francisco St. Regis, and Ka’ana Kitchen in Maui.
She also took a leap of faith to open her own spot Mendo, before joining the team at Lineage in August of 2019. Chef MiJin worked alongside Top Chef Sheldon Simeon, who built the foundation of Lineage.
“The energy in the kitchen at Lineage is intoxicating and I could not be more excited to lead this team in taking the restaurant to the next level!” says Chef MiJin.
Seating at LINEAGE is available on a walk-in basis via OpenTable “Wait List” or by simply walking into the restaurant.
Reservations are available for parties of 1 to 6 guests via OpenTable. For reservations for parties of 7 or more, please call the restaurant to reserve a table for your party 808.879.8800

We welcome walk-ins and will seat your party as tables become available, while you wait you may wish to shop and or to grab a drink next door in Island Gourmet Markets.

“This place is a must try for any foodies looking for a fancier dinner! The service was wonderful and all of our server’s recommendations were so good! The poke bites were so delicious, and while the “small bites” truly are small, the mains are BIG so be prepared! The Korean fried chicken is enormous and could likely feed 4 people, but it was so yummy and we saved some for lunch the next day! The miso chocolate ice cream was absolutely to die for. Highly recommend Lineage!”
