About Umi Sushi Maui
Umi Sushi, nestled at 1951 E. Vineyard Street, Wailuku, Maui, emanates a quaint charm, offering a delightful array of sushi, sashimi, steak, and seafood. Operating from 5 pm to 8 pm (Sunday to Tuesday) with a Ramen Menu, and from 5 pm to 9 pm (Wednesday to Saturday) with a Sushi Menu, this establishment beckons patrons with its casual ambiance yet serious dedication to high-quality, creative cuisine.
The atmosphere, though casual, encapsulates a comfortable essence, making it a cherished spot for both locals and tourists to savor some of the finest Japanese fare on Maui.
Among a myriad of offerings, certain menu items have notably tantalized the taste buds of many. The Crab Bao Bun, Truffle Fries, Ramen, Garlic Tiger Roll, and Shiso Dragon Roll are highly recommended by patrons, embodying a perfect blend of traditional and creative flavors. In addition to sushi, Umi offers delectable noodle dishes. One guest even remarked that they have the “best ramen on Maui.”
For a smoother dining experience, it’s advised to arrive early to avoid long waits, especially as the restaurant doesn’t accept reservations. The BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) policy is a plus for those wanting to pair their meal with a choice of alcohol. Ordering popular items early is also recommended as they tend to sell out quickly.
Happy Hour at Umi Sushi Maui is 5pm-6pm Tuesday-Saturday and features 20% off almost all items.
According to these Umi Sushi Maui patrons
“Real sushi. No corners cut. Worth every penny. Awesome local experience with great staff.”Dennis D., November 2023
“We were at a private function for family and friends. Perfect venue for us in Central Maui. Our friend did the Hawaiian blessing of the food and friends. We had the food as buffet style and it was delicious. Larry Endrina was the entertainment.
He choose to sing and play the perfect selection of Hawaiian songs for our age group and gathering. There is street parking, but read the sign carefully. This restaurant is tucked away and residents favorites. They did a great event for us and we are looking forward to going back and ordering from their regular menu. Easy to get to from Kihei, Wailea or Maalaea. 🌺”Robin R., October 2023
“I’ve been to both their food truck and their restaurant many times, and they always hit it out of the park. I always get the order of truffle fries, plus the Umi Roll, and once in a while I’ll get the soft shelled crab bao bun. They also change their desserts over the years for the restaurant location, and a while back I got one of their macaron desserts, it was super good!
Great place to go with friends and family. Staff are super nice and it’s always great to support local.”Miguel M., October 2023
“Best Ramen on Maui. Mahalo Umi for always taking care of my family.”Kalehua M., October 2023
“Ramen is bomb.”Steven L., September 2023
“The restaurant is an amazing find. The chef and owner (Jayse) served an absolutely out of this world 20-course omakase, which is an annual tradition for Christmas. Service was impeccable and the atmosphere welcoming and relaxing. Can’t wait to come back.”Vladimir K., January 2023
